Emma Walker Bio

Emma first started down the self employed route in 2005 after working for a bullying boss.  She started looking for another job but her confidence was at an all time low and didn’t want to go from one bad situation to another.  On researching job opportunities, Emma came across the term Virtual Assistant (VA) and after extensive research, realised this was the perfect opportunity to utilise her skills and desire to be her own boss.

Emma’s first business venture was a West Midlands based virtual assistant business, www.ckpa.co.uk, which specialised in helping coaches, entrepreneurs and home-based businesses concentrate on the money making activities within their businesses by providing full PA support.

Eighteen months after starting her VA business, Emma became a mum and was mixing business with a newborn baby – always a juggling act to get everything done!

Having established her VA business, Emma was keen to share her knowledge and wrote her first e-book, ‘So you want to become a Virtual Assistant’. She felt there was a gap in the market for information relating to starting and operating a business, especially a virtual assistant business. For more information, please visit www.ckpa.co.uk/products.

She is also Co-Founder of VA Success Group, teaming up with another successful Virtual Assistant industry leader, Justine Curtis, to provide aspiring and existing Virtual Assistants with resources, training and products to help them create their perfect VA business.  For more information, please visit www.VASuccessGroup.co.uk.

In 2010, Emma transformed her virtual assistant business into its current form – a business mentor, which helps mothers to succeed in business and become ‘mumpreneurs’. The Mumpreneur’s Mentor offers a variety of products, tools and resources designed to help mothers transform their ideas into successful businesses, the easy way! For more information, please visit www.themumpreneursmentor.com.

Emma has teamed up again with business partner Justine, to create the Academy for Online Business which helps mumpreneur’s, self employed professionals and solo business owners start their own online business empire and stop trading time for money – whilst earning more! www.AcademyforOnlineBusiness.com

Emma fits running her businesses around her young daughter, Megan. Being her own boss has allowed Emma to devote extra time to Megan, and to watch her grow and develop into an amazing little girl, who is the inspiration behind everything that she does.

Emma is a serial entrepreneur, author and busy mum.

Justine Curtis Bio

Justine established her first online business, an internet marketing company, in 1998, while working full-time. Tired of the office environment and the limitations of 9-5 working, she wanted a business that could be run from a computer anywhere in the world she happened to be, working hours that suited her. She sold it in 2003 for a six-figure sum, and it is still running under its new ownership today.

In 2003 Justine went on to create My Virtual Assistant Limited a flourishing business support service, providing virtual office support, personal assistance, secretarial, business support and administration services to entrepreneurs and small businesses. She still owns this company and it is rapidly expanding through a network of licensees across the UK, For more information, see www.my-va.com.

Justine founded the UK Association of Virtual Assistants (UKAVA) in 2005 to fill a void in the virtual assistant market. Virtual assistants were becoming increasingly in demand by home business owners and entrepreneurs, yet no effective association existed to provide information, advice and recommendations to either virtual assistants or their prospective clients. The UKAVA was developed and has gone on to become the primary resource for virtual assistants wishing to advertise their services, and for potential clients looking for their perfect business partner. For more information, visit www.ukava.co.uk.

Justine is the author of the first book published in the UK on the subject – ‘Setting Yourself Up As A Virtual Assistant’. It is available in paperback from Amazon.com, or as an eBook download from www.ukava.co.uk

In 2008 Justine joined forces with Emma Walker, another virtual assistant industry leader, to form the virtual assistant training company VA Success Group. Together they have developed the UK’s premier virtual assistant training and mentoring company, assisting hundreds of start ups to establish their own virtual assistant businesses.

As a team, Justine and Emma again pooled their experience and went on to develop the Academy for Online Business, teaching entrepreneurs, solo professionals and those who want to stop trading their time for money, how to develop a successful online business.

Justine has been interviewed as an expert in her field by BBC Radio 4’s Women’s Hour, The Times, The Independent on Sunday and the London Evening Standard.

In her spare time, Justine enjoys sailing, diving, horse riding, yoga, driving fast cars around racetracks, watching Formula 1 motor racing and raising money for various charities, including, The Mango Tree and Oxfam.
